EC Claim Process
Hong Kong's Employees' Compensation Ordinance is strict on timing. Miss the 14-day Form 2 deadline and the case becomes far harder to defend. Here is the exact flow.

End-to-end flow chart
Six steps from injury to settlement.
Provide first aid, send the worker to A&E if needed, secure the scene and notify LSC the same day via WhatsApp.
Submit Form 2 within 14 days for work-injury cases (Form 2B applies to minor injuries with incapacity of 3 days or less). Fatal cases require Form 2 within 7 days. We prepare and lodge it for you.
Collect all sick leave certificates from a registered medical practitioner, treatment receipts and medical records throughout the recovery period.
Once the injury stabilises, the Employees' Compensation Assessment Board issues Form 5 (compensation assessment) and Form 7 (Certificate of Assessment) for sick-leave compensation.
Employer pays the worker within 21 days of the certificate, then claims reimbursement from the insurer for sick-leave pay, medical expenses and any permanent incapacity compensation.
Final certificate of compensation issued. Keep records for at least 6 years for audit and renewal purposes.

Common questions
